The debut of High Stakes Poker Season 6 was featured last Sunday on GSN where ub pro Phil Hellmuth dropped $200,000 in a matter of minutes. The event was hosted by Kara Scott and Gabe Kaplan.

Six of the eight players began with $200,000. Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan bought in for $500,000. Hellmuth pre-flopped with A-Q of clubs, Ivey called with 10-6, and Hoiyold had a J-8. The flop came 3-K-4, everyone missed, and Ivey bet $2000. Hellmuth called looking forward to see an eight on the turn but Ivey bet again with $6,000 driving Hellmuth out.

On the next hand, Hellmuth had A-J, raised up to $4,000 pre-flop. Ivey on the other hand, holding pocket queens, made a dashing $15,000. Phil Hellmuth went for $40,000 making Ivey shove all-in, having Hellmuth covered. Hellmuth deliberated sayig he was planning to make a thin call. Dwan told Ivey he would pay $2,000 if Ivey flipped over a pair of jacks. Ivey declined and Helmuth was down $50,000.

After seven-way actions, Hellmuth was stuck as he was once again noted to be run over by Esfandiari. Several hands later, Hellmuth was shown a better flush by Ivey with a river of 10 of hearts and just like that, Hellmuth deprted, out $200,000. Meanwhile, Ivey was up to $233,000 which was more than the show's typical buy-in. The final pot of the night grew Ivey's bankroll further. In the end, Ivey was up over $330,000.
